Family Based Mental Health Services (FBMHS)
Providing family therapy, crisis intervention, prevention services, and service coordination for families with at least one child who is at risk for a higher level of care in the home. A referral is required for enrollment.
The primary goal of Family Based Mental Health Services is to help parents and caregivers to care for their children who have a behavioral health diagnosis and reduce the need for a higher level of care. We work to strengthen and maintain family relationships through therapy, improving coping skills of all family members, teaching family members to provide the support their child needs, and serve as an advocate for their child in the community. We also provide access to mental health services for family members who may be unable to participate in traditional outpatient programs. Once a family has completed using our services, we help them transition to other providers in the community who can provide additional services and support.
Other lower levels of care have not been effective to help, such as outpatient services, BHRS, school-based.
