ParentWISE “Look For the Helpers” Breakfast
Wesley Family Services ParentWISE Program and Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance are partnering on April 9th to highlight the tremendous progress being made in our efforts to prevent child abuse. Our collective work aims to improve our communities by equipping parents, educators, and community supports with the information, tools, and skills necessary to navigate the issues facing our children today.
Please join us on April 9, 2024 in celebrating the progress being made to protect children in our region. The ParentWISE Program has worked tirelessly for over four decades to ensure that families, caregivers, and children have the resources to become productive engaged members of our communities. Their commitment to helping families find a better path has helped them reach over 45,000 people. This event celebrates their success and will provide an invaluable opportunity to learn how you too can help.
This meaningful event has been made possible through a partnership with The Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance, whose mission is to provide education, support, and training programs to make Pennsylvania safe for children. Wesley Family Services ParentWISE program is proud to support their vision of all children growing and thriving free from abuse and neglect. We look forward to engaging you in the conversation. Please consider taking time to support and celebrate these impactful programs.

Keynote Focus
Children are growing up in a world that is more connected than ever. We receive news, almost instantly, of violence across the world and traumatic events across our own country. While we can work to protect children from regular exposure to this content, they are hearing and understanding more than we may know from the conversations they overhear, interactions with peers, and time spent online. This webinar, offered by the PA Family Support Alliance, will look to Fred Rogers for insight and encouragement in how adults can steward young people through a childhood that is vastly different from generations before. How do we talk with children about the difficult things they see online? What do we say to our children about their safety, when they see and hear about violence happening in our own country and around the world? How do we manage our own fears and prevent them from negatively impacting our interactions with children? The Fred Rogers Institute will draw from the Fred Rogers Archive and its relationships with child-serving professionals and families to consider what we can do and say as children look to us when they “look for the helpers.”
